      PROJECT MANAGER

      The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is a cross-industry technology development consortium, dedicated to improving the competitiveness and strength of the U.S. industrial base. As a member-based organization, it leverages its network of industry, government, and academic partners to develop, demonstrate, and transition innovative technologies efficiently, with less risk and lower cost.

      The Project Manager is responsible for planning and carrying out multiple projects while considering contingencies and alternatives. While working closely with the program and project management team, this role provides leadership and/or support for each step of full-cycle project management. This role reports to a PMO.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Manage collaborative projects that meet technology and business needs of NCMS customers.
      • Guide the development of project concept paper, statement of work, work breakdown structure, budget, schedule, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, and subcontractor and consultant selection and management.
      • Complete final reporting and outreach as required.
      • Provide daily management of each project by developing and maintaining all project communications, records, and files. Assure proper audit material maintained and available.
      • Maintain open and frequent communication with assigned Director as well as all NCMS departments.
      • Strictly adhere to all rules and regulations as determined by government, NCMS customers, and NCMS best practice.
      • Proactively promote NCMS and its mission by developing relationships with industry, government, academia, and professional associations.
      • Participate in technical seminars, workshops, and trade shows as necessary.
      • Perform other duties as needed.

      Requirements:

      • Must be a citizen of the United States
      • Must hold or be eligible to obtain government security clearance
      • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum two year working in R&D Project Management
      • Experience working in a manufacturing, advanced technology or mechanical maintenance environment
      • Demonstrated competency in communication, contributing to team success, initiating action and persuasiveness
      • Demonstrated customer focus and continuous learning
      • Demonstrated ability to perform administrative duties and to use basic office equipment and applications

      PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR

      Job Purpose:

      The Project Administrator is responsible for supporting diverse projects and other activities while maintaining exceptional customer service and organization.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Maintain and assist in the creation of content for internal and external facing communications, particularly website copy.
      • Respond to internal and external customer requests as needed.
      • Identify customer needs and collaborate with internal NCMS departments to satisfy those needs.
      • Maintain project information and data centers.
      • Presentation preparation, and data collection.
      • Assist in the documentation and improvement of procedures.
      • Event coordination and meeting support including virtual meetings.
      • Preparation and distribution of project meeting notes.
      • Assist in proposal preparation which may include content creation, editing, organization of content from multiple sources, formatting and ensuring specified guidelines are met.
      • Complete proposal audits including financial review, content research, and compliance checks.
      • Become trained and proficient in specified core functions within the organization.
      • Perform other duties as requested.

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field or a minimum three years’ experience in an administrative role with customer service focus.
      • Microsoft Office suite experience.

      HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

      National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist for its Ann Arbor, Michigan headquarters.

      IT Support Technician

      The IT Support Technician responds to support requests from NCMS staff. Support activities include IT hardware, software, and end user training. Excellent communication and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks are essential skills.

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Respond to e-mail and telephone requests for computer hardware and software support.
      • Perform preventive maintenance on laptops, desktops, servers, printers, mobile devices, and miscellaneous peripheral devices.
      • Maintain and wired and wireless network devices including router, and switches.
      • Receive, store, log, and track hardware and software inventory.
      • Install and configure Windows operating systems and applications. Troubleshoot configuration problems.
      • Install, configure, troubleshoot workstations, and peripherals. The Support Technician will ensure compliance with all software license agreements made between NCMS and other vendors for infrastructure use.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

      • Experience with Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) suite applications.
      • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Thorough knowledge of PC and server hardware
      • Mastery of network fundamentals & components (LAN/WAN, routers, hubs, etc.)
      • Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, 802.11, HTTP, FTP, etc.)
      • Minimum of 1 year of hardware and software diagnostic experience, configuring TCP/IP and using Internet protocols.
      • Ability to transport heavy boxes (up to 80 lbs.) of equipment and software.
      • Proactive, self-driven, and able to resolve problems with minimal direction and oversight
      • Strong ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
      • Convey a positive and professional image which will reflect favorably on both the company and the IT Department
      • Excellent communication skills are essential
      • Prior help desk experience is highly desired
      • Experience in a NIST 800-171 desired.
      • A+, Cisco or Microsoft certification strongly desired
      • Active Directory and Group Policy administrative experience desired.
